Oreo cookies

Food Glorious food. I love it, all types of it, especially the sweet types. Pretty much the only food I don't like  is mushy peas and beans. I like to cook and bake, baking is my favourite and I bake something every week, cakes, cupcakes, biscuits or cookies, we have something nice for desert a couple of days a week.

This week I fancied cookies and then I saw my favourite chocolate (well favourite at the moment!) on offer I decided to combine the two.

I made cookies but instead of plain chocolate chips I mixed in bits of oreo chocolate.

Here's how I did it:

Ingredients:
100g butter
75g caster sugar
50g light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large beaten egg
150g self-raising flour
120g bar of oreo chocolate

Mix together the butter and sugars until all blended together

Add the vanilla extract to the beaten egg and slowly add to the butter and sugar mixture, beating well with each addition
 Mix in the flour
 Break up the chocolate
 Add to the mixture
Spoon into 'piles' leaving space for the mixture to spread. bake for 10 mins on 190C.
They don't come out perfectly round...but they are perfectly tasty.

Leave to cool if you can... or eat them warm :)

These are so quick and easy to make. they are great to make with the kids because they are so easy, they only take 10 mins to cook so they don't have to wait long to see the finished result. You can add whatever chocolate you fancy, or try smarties or M&Ms.

What do you think? Do you like Oreo, I guess these are like a cookie in a cookie!?
